TKA Middle School Swimming

Coached by Head Coach Tonya Rollins, the King’s Academy Swim Team is offered for all middle school and high school students. Practices consist of two hours three times a week at the Sevierville Community Center. Swimmers compete in meets against other local teams, as well as the Championship meet for middle school and City/State meet for high school.

Swimming offers something no other aerobic exercise does: the ability
to work the body without harsh impact. Regular swimming builds endurance,
cardio-vascular fitness, and muscle strength. It can serve as a cross-training
element to your regular workouts or other sports.

In addition, spending time in a group workout, like swimming, is a great
social outlet. Exchanging stories, challenging each other, and sharing in the hard
work make swimming with others a rewarding experience.

Message to TKA Swimmer’s Parents from Ryan Beuchner, Sevier County Swimming

Friday, November 30, 2012

Middle and High School Parents,

Congratulations to the middle and high school teams who won the meet last night SC:158, Jeff Co: 116, Cocke Co: 88. Attached are the individual results for you to keep track of your swimmer’s progress. Additionally I have attached an updated report of who has qualified for the state meet by achieving their cut times thus far. Please keep in mind that many of the high school swimmers will also be used in relays at the state meet in which the only requirement is that 2 state qualifiers are on that relay. Please let me know a.s.a.p. of time (high school swimmers) if you will be unable to attend the end of season meets.

I have also attached a schedule that allows you to look at the rest of the schedule including over the holiday break(Club swimmers please keep in mind that your schedule will include more practices over the winter break). On that schedule you will find the next meet, Ray Bussard Invitational, which I need to know by next Wednesday if you plan on Swimming this meet. The cost is $10 per swimmer, which you can give to me or Kiki Knight. This will be a great opportunity for the middle and high school swimmers to get a championship meet experience mid-season and I strongly recommend all of my middle/high school swimmers(especially those that do not swim club meets) to attend this meet. I have also attached the meet information for that meet.

I know I have thrown a lot at you today, please let me know if you have any questions or concerns on any of these topics.

Sincerely,

Ryan Buechner
Sevier County Swimming
