About The King’s Academy Middle School Volleyball Program
The King’s Academy Middle school volleyball program is an opportunity to engage in a fun learning experience for the sport while emphasizing the basic fundamentals. Although winning is not everything, we do participate in competitive league hosted by the Knoxville Independent School League. Colossians 3:17 states that “And whatsoever ye do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God and the Father by him.” We give our best in all areas, on and off the court. We use the talents of our local universities to enrich our program. We attend Carson Newman College during the summer for a 4 full- day and night camp. All competitors are encouraged to attend.
The varsity is coached by Candice Pitney, a 6-year coaching veteran at The King’s Academy. She started the middle school volleyball program here at The King’s Academy. She has had a very successful program including most recently winning the Knoxville Independent School League as well as winning the conference tournament in 2012. She has played volleyball throughout elementary, middle, and high school.
The Junior Varsity is coached by Deborah Olson. She is a committed parent and has been at The King’s Academy for several years. She currently has two daughters that attend The King’s Academy. Deborah is in her third year of coaching. Deborah played intermural volleyball in college.
