TKA High School Volleyball
Head Coach Kelly Peterson played volleyball at TN Tech University and has refereed high school and college volleyball for almost 20 years. Peterson began coaching over 11 years ago and has coached high school and club volleyball.
Peterson has two grown daughters. Her daughter, Morgan played volleyball throughout high school and will finish playing volleyball at Butler this fall. Peterson’s other daughter Megan played basketball at the University of North Florida.
Peterson loves refereeing because she enjoys seeing local girls grow up playing volleyball and watching them continue the sport in college. However, coaching volleyball is what she enjoys more than anything! When asked why she loves coaching, Peterson states, “Being a part of girls’ lives, teaching them volleyball and getting to know them personally is a wonderful thing. Not only do I get to teach girls the sport I love but I get to be a part of molding them into mature adults. I believe that a lot of times athletes learn life lessons earlier than non-athletes. Volleyball is hard but life is harder. Volleyball is just one tool to help girls realize that they can do many great things with the help of Christ and the people around them.”
