Thank you for visiting our new, user friendly web site! The fact that you are here means we are making progress.
Our launch coincides with the attention Earth Day received around the world this past weekend. While we like to think that stewardship of natural resources has always been the Christian thing to do, we don’t mind piggy-backing on a popular movement now and then when the cause lines up with a biblical world view. Thus, we launch this new site in the context of taking better care of God’s created world.
Some significant changes in the way we do business definitely have some “green” benefits. For the first time (1) prospective students anywhere in the world can apply for admission via the web site; (2) the web site link to Parents Web allows parents to enroll students online, (3) the web site link to FACTS allows parents to make payments and monitor account activity 24/7; and (4) friends of the academy can make donations with just a few keystrokes.
This web site is not perfect. I know because I had something to do with it. I do believe it is a great improvement over our old site. We also pledge to make continued updates and improvements. And we invite your help. If you see something you don’t like, find something that is not accurate, or think of a way to make the web site better, I invite you to let us know. You can email me your feedback at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Finally, four people deserve a lot of credit for this new look. First, Melissa Fagan and the other smart, efficient folks at Slamdot have been great to work with. Second, we would not be launching at this time if not for the special interest, generous support and encouragement TKA Parent Julie Knight has provided. Third, Dana Sebby came alongside with her remarkable creativity and boundless energy to transform an overwhelming project into a workable dream. Fourth, my always positive assistant, Melinda Thornton, held everything together, keeping the web site work going while overseeing the complete transition of the academy’s tech support programs and managing our capital campaign. It was a team effort; we have a great team.
