Intermediate and Middle School Students Shine at ACSI Creative Writing Festivals

On January 25, 2013, eighteen intermediate and middle school students competed in the ACSI 2013 District Creative Writing Festival at Christian Academy of Knoxville. Students had been selected by their language arts teachers to enter their original work in either the free verse poetry, rhymed poetry, short story, or essay category. All students received recognition for their writing strengths, with seven students rating superior and automatically continuing to the Southeast Regional competition. Nathaniel Hall (5th), Zac Shaffer (5th), Matthew Rollar (6th), Garyn McGill (7th), and Niamh Schumacher (8th) earned superior ratings once again at the regional level of competition, receiving both ribbons and certificates of recognition for their exceptional work.
