Announcements regarding school closings and early dismissals due to inclement weather are sent to members of the TKA family via the RenWeb Parent Alert text message system. Closing and dismissal status may change fairly quickly due to shifts in weather patterns. Classes are considered to be on regular schedule if no Parent Alert text message is received.
TKA T-SHIRTS ORDERS DUE FRIDAY, February 12 (TOMORROW)
Order your official TKA t-shirts to show your TKA Pride! Shirts are available in long and short sleeves. A brand new parent shirt is available as well. Click on the link at the bottom of this message to download an order form. All orders must be received by Friday, February 12. All t-shirts are $15.00 each and are approved for Friday dress-code.
TKA BASEBALL FUNDRAISING BANQUET: Saturday, February 13
TKA Baseball is hosting a fundraising dinner this Saturday, February 13 at 5:00 pm in Ashe Cafeteria on campus. Tickets are $10.00 each and can be purchased in the HS office or from Coach Gann. Dinner will feature chicken, pork, 3 sides and dessert. There will be several drawings for door prizes which include the following: 2-night cabin rentals (from Volunteer Cabin Rentals and Old Mill Lodging), Ripley’s Aquarium tickets, Country Tonight tickets, $100.00 gift cards to Home Depot or Dick’s, $50.00 gift cards to Calhoun’s, $25.00 Visa gift cards, $50.00 gift card to TKA school store, custom baseball hat, Home Depot grill, St. Somewhere spa gift basket and more! BOX TOPS FOR EDUCATION
Have you been saving up your Box Tops? Please place the Box Tops in ziploc baggies in bundles of 50 and write your child’s name and his/her teacher’s name on each baggie. The class with the most Box Tops submitted by Tuesday, February 16 will win a pizza party!
SPRING SPORTS TRYOUTS
The high school tennis team will have try outs on Tuesday, February 16 at 4:00 at the TKA tennis courts. Anyone interested should come at that time. You will need a racket, tennis shoes, and water. In the event of inclement weather, tryouts will move to Thursday, February 18. See you on the court! -Coaches Webb and Hall
Any middle and high school students interested in being a part of the Track team should meet in front of the cafeteria on Tuesday, February 16 at 4:45 p.m. to depart for practice at the Seymour High School Track. Practice will be from 5:00-6:30 p.m. Practice and meet schedules will be discussed at this time. -Coach Tyre
HIGH SCHOOL PROM: Saturday, April 23 7:30-11:30 p.m.
This year’s high school prom will be held at The Square Room in Downtown Knoxville. Tickets will be sold during high school lunch on the following dates:
March 10, 17 & 24 ($35 per person)
April 7 & 14 ($40 per person)
Please note that ticket prices increase $5 per person if purchased in April. No tickets will be sold the week of prom. TKA’s prom is open to grades 9-12 only.

TKA YEARBOOK ORDERS

There will be two separate yearbooks this year – one for elementary school and one for middle & high school. Visit www.balfour.com and search “The King’s Academy Seymour, TN” for the middle/high school yearbook or “The King’s Academy Elementary Seymour TN” for the elementary yearbook. Reduced pricing for a standard yearbook is available through the end of February: $25 for elementary and $35 for middle/high. Prices increase by $5 on March 1, 2016.
