The King’s Academy seeks to provide spiritual growth and academic empowerment for promising students. Our students come from around the globe—an average of 17 countries are represented—and they leave profoundly changed by the welcoming culture that we call “family.”
Dr. Billy Kim and the Far East Broadcasting Company-Korea Children’s Choir will visit Seymour for a special performance Monday morning, February 26, 2018, in The King’s Academy’s Polly Enix Tibbetts Building. The 9:30 a.m. program is for academy students in grades Pre-K through 12, and is also open to the public.

The FEBC-Korea Children’s Choir has delighted audiences around the United States with their beautiful voices, colorful costumes, skilled choreography and traditional Korean dance. The choir has performed at Disneyland, Walt Disney World, The Pentagon, Walter Reed Medical Center, and numerous conventions, churches, universities and music festivals. Their performances include American folk arrangements, patriotic songs, sacred music and hymns, popular music, contemporary Christian songs and Korean traditional songs.
International Christian statesman, pastor, broadcaster and influential speaker Dr. Billy Kim has inspired thousands with his story. He became the first Asian to serve as the president of the 40 million-member Baptist World Alliance, and built an international media network at Far East Broadcasting-Korea where he serves as Chairman of the Board. Today, his ministry continues to touch thousands of lives through preaching and broadcasting.
Dr. Kim founded Central Christian Academy in Suwon, South Korea. CCA is an official sister school to The King’s Academy. Dr. Kim’s son, Dr. Joseph Kim, is Headmaster and Chaplain at CCA.
Following their visit to TKA, Dr. Kim and the Children’s Choir will travel to Carson-Newman University for a performance there. The following week, Dr. Kim will speak at the National Religious Broadcasters International Christian Media Convention in Nashville, Tennessee. The children will perform at the convention as well.
A former President of the Baptist World Alliance, Kim currently serves as Pastor Emeritus of the 15,000-member Central Baptist Church in Suwon, South Korea, where he has pastored more than 45 years. He is also the Chairman of the Far East Broadcasting Company in Korea, directing its network of 11 radio stations, of which two are high-powered AM transmitters sending the Gospel to China, Russia, Japan, and throughout Korea. In addition, Kim is the author of several books on Christian living and has preached the Gospel of Jesus Christ all over the world to thousands of people in all walks of life.
