The King’s Academy seeks to provide spiritual growth and academic empowerment for promising students. Our students come from around the globe—an average of 17 countries are represented—and they leave profoundly changed by the welcoming culture that we call “family.”
Why TKA Boarding?
Better Prepare for College Life
Our boarding students have the opportunity to develop life skills that prepare them for the transition into college. They are encouraged to develop greater independence and self confidence and become organized, self-sufficient students within an environment that is supportive and safe. Consequently, they are more likely to begin college with stronger study habits and life skills than their non-boarding peers.
Supportive Learning Community
Our resident life program is about family and community. Close friendships that our students develop often last a lifetime. We have a healthy resident life community led by dorm directors and staff who create a safe, supportive, compassionate, and respectful family environment.
Just as our campus becomes a “home away from home” for our boarding students, dorm directors and staff become “parents away from home” for them. Our resident life staff are teachers and coaches and have high moral character. They invest time getting to know their students and support and encourage them academically, socially, physically, and spiritually. Our dorm directors and staff live with the students in the dormitories and are fully involved in parenting them. Dorm directors review each student’s grades weekly and assign students to one of two facilitated study halls according to each student’s academic progress.
A Safe Location
Our campus is located in the desirable community of Seymour, TN – a safe and peaceful suburb of Knoxville, TN. Boasting beautiful views of the Great Smoky Mountains, friendly people, and a low crime rate, Seymour provides a comfortable, homey learning environment for our students.
