From the Head of Lower School

Learning comes to life.

This week brought meaningful classroom connections, fall adventures, community partnerships, and opportunities for students to discover and share their gifts.

Dear Lower School Families,

What another wonderful week of learning, laughter, and meaningful experiences at The King’s Academy!

Our Lower School has been full of excitement, and I am so grateful for the many opportunities our students have had to learn beyond the walls of their classrooms, build relationships, and discover the gifts God has given them.

Third Grade Turns an Assignment into an Experience

One of my favorite moments this week was spending time with our third-grade students as part of their writing assignment.

Our students conducted interviews with me about my role as Lower School Principal, and what a joy it was to share a little more about my heart, my calling, and my “why” for serving here at TKA.

This place holds such a special place in my heart, and having the opportunity to share that with our students was truly a highlight of my week.

I loved hearing their thoughtful questions and watching them practice their communication and writing skills in such a meaningful, real-world way.

These are the moments that remind me how much learning comes to life when students can connect their classroom assignments to the people, experiences, and purpose around them!

Fall Adventures and Learning Beyond the Classroom

Several of our grade levels, from Kindergarten through third grade, enjoyed wonderful educational experiences this week!

From visits to local pumpkin patches and farms to outdoor activities at Seymour First Baptist Church, our students had opportunities to explore, discover, and enjoy fellowship with their classmates.

A special thank-you to Kyker’s Farm, Springtime Farms, and Seymour First Baptist Church for helping provide these memorable experiences for our students.

We are grateful for the community partnerships that enrich our students’ education and give them opportunities to connect what they are learning in the classroom to the world around them.

Field trips and outdoor learning experiences provide so much more than a fun day away from school. They encourage curiosity, strengthen relationships, create lasting memories, and allow students to experience learning in new and exciting ways.

What a blessing it is to see their excitement as they explore and learn together!

Our ELC Welcomes Community Heroes!

Our Early Learning Center students also had a special on-campus experience this week as we welcomed our local Fire Department!

Our youngest learners enjoyed learning more about fire safety and the important work our local firefighters do to protect and serve our community.

We are so thankful to our local first responders for investing their time in our students and helping them develop an early understanding of safety, service, and the people who work hard to care for others.

These experiences help our youngest learners see what it means to be a good neighbor and appreciate those who serve our community.

TKA Got Talent: Celebrating God-Given Gifts!

We are also excited to see several of our Lower School students in grades 3–5 participating in TKA Got Talent!

We cannot wait to see these students take the stage and share their God-given talents with our school community.

Whether students are singing, dancing, playing an instrument, or showcasing another special ability, opportunities like these remind us that every child has unique gifts and abilities worth celebrating.

It takes courage to step onto a stage and share something special with others, and we are proud of our students for embracing this opportunity!

Their gifts are not simply for their own recognition, but opportunities to reflect God’s glory and bless others.

What a Blessing It Is to Learn Together!

As I reflect on this week, I am reminded of how grateful I am to serve alongside our dedicated teachers and staff and to partner with families who entrust us with their precious children each day.

From meaningful classroom assignments to hands-on adventures, community partnerships, and opportunities to share their talents, our students continue to grow in so many wonderful ways.

Thank you for being part of our TKA family and for supporting the work we do each day.

We are committed to helping our students grow academically, spiritually, and personally as they discover who God created them to be and how they can use their gifts for His glory.

We are learning, we are growing, and we are ROARing for Jesus!

Family Reminders

Keep these on your radar.

Open a section below for the complete reminder.

Attendance & Tardies

Any student who arrives after 8:00 a.m. will need to be signed in at the front office to receive a tardy note from Mrs. Dani before going to class.

FACTS will send an automated email notification regarding your child’s tardy. A reminder that three tardies become an absence.

If your child is absent, FACTS will send an automated email notification. Once a doctor’s note or parent note is received, Mrs. Dani will add a note indicating that the absence is excused.

As always, please reach out to Mrs. Dani or Mrs. Sullivan-Connatser with any questions.

Navigating the Season of Sickness Together

As we head further into the fall season, illnesses tend to circulate more frequently. Thank you for partnering with us to help keep our students, teachers, and families healthy.

Students must be fever-free for at least 24 hours without the use of fever-reducing medication before returning to school.

Please also keep your child home if they are experiencing vomiting, diarrhea, or other significant symptoms of a contagious illness, and allow them adequate time to recover before returning to the classroom.

Morning Drop-Off: Safety First!

If you need to exit your vehicle to help your child walk into the building, please park in a designated parking lot and walk your child along the sidewalk to the front door.

The drop-off circle is intended for students who can exit their vehicles independently and enter the building without additional assistance.

Following this procedure helps keep traffic flowing smoothly, prevents unnecessary congestion, and, most importantly, helps ensure the safety of all students and families.

Campus Visitors

All visitors must check in at the front desk with Mrs. Dani to receive a visitor badge before going to lunch, chapel, a classroom, or another location on campus.

Learning. Growing. ROARing for Jesus.

We are grateful to partner with families as students discover who God created them to be, develop their gifts, grow in knowledge and character, and learn how those gifts can be used for His glory.

We ROAR for God’s Glory. For God’s Glory we ROAR!
