Esther 4:14
“And who knows whether you have not come to the kingdom for such a time as this?”

TKA Community,

As we wrap up our first month of school, I continue to be grateful for the energy, enthusiasm, and sense of community evident across The King’s Academy. It has been a tremendous start, and I want to thank our families for the way you have leaned into this season alongside us.

Earlier this month, Founders Day and Convocation gave us an opportunity to remember the generations whose faithfulness made TKA possible and to consider our responsibility to faithfully steward what has been entrusted to us.

During Convocation, I shared from Esther 4:14 and Mordecai’s challenge to Esther: “And who knows whether you have not come to the kingdom for such a time as this?”

We have been entrusted with this school, these students, and this moment. May we approach it with gratitude for those who came before us and a genuine sense of responsibility for what God has placed before us.

That spirit was evident in our Founders Day of Giving. Thanks to the generosity and participation of our TKA community, we exceeded our donor goal. To everyone who participated, thank you. Your investment in TKA and belief in our mission mean a great deal.

There is tremendous momentum across campus. Classes are in full swing, clubs are taking shape, and our new House System has been a great addition to Middle and Upper School. Our fall athletic teams are competing well and representing TKA with excellence, character, and school spirit. And I have to give a special shout-out to our student section. Our students have brought tremendous energy and school spirit while showing up to support one another. It has been great to see.

Some of the most meaningful moments, however, are not always the most visible. There is a particular sweetness in hearing our Lower School students worship together in chapel. In Middle and Upper School, I am encouraged by the ways students are engaging through chapel, House, relationships, and conversations that challenge them to grow in their faith. Faith formation is not confined to a chapel service. It is woven throughout the TKA experience as we seek to help students grow academically, spiritually, relationally, and personally.

Tonight will bring another special moment. For the first time in two years, football will be played at home at The King’s Academy. After not fielding a team last season, our Lions are off to an exciting 2–0 start. I hope our entire TKA community will come out in a big way to support our football team, cheerleaders, and dance team. Students, parents, faculty, staff, alumni, grandparents, and friends of TKA, we want you there! Let’s fill our campus, bring the energy, and celebrate this return together.

Grandparents Day is next week, our academic and co-curricular programs continue to gain momentum, and there is much more ahead.

I am deeply grateful for our faculty, staff, and administrators who pour into our students each day. I am equally grateful to our parents for entrusting your children to TKA and partnering with us in their education, faith formation, and development. This partnership is essential to who we are.

As the year continues, I plan to use this monthly communication not only to celebrate life at TKA, but also to keep you informed about the broader work of the Academy. I look forward to sharing more about enrollment, facilities, financial stewardship, strategic priorities, and other important work taking place behind the scenes. I want our community to understand both what is happening at TKA and where we are going.

The energy on campus is palpable, and we have much to be thankful for and much to look forward to. Thank you for being part of it.

This is our time. May we be faithful with it.

In Christ,
